Town Blasts ‘Alvin And The Chipmunks’ Music To Deter Homeless

In a first of this nature, a town in England is using children’s music to deter homeless people from loitering at the transit station.

Bournemouth Coach Station is blasting the squeaky serenades of Alvin and the Chipmunks from 12 to 6 a.m. daily, according to the BBCreport.

Previously, the transit station played bagpipe music to deter those who want to sleep at the station or harass riders.

Some local residents told the BBC that they thought the choice of music was “cruel and unnecessary.”

Police and the town council will review the plan and take into consideration the public’s feedback.
