Stamford Bridge legend Drogba believes “things often come in three-year cycles” - as under-fire Mourinho struggles mightily having returned for a second spell in charge of the west Londoners before the 2013-14 season.
Recalling the end of the Special One’s first stint as Chelsea manager in September 2007, Drogba said: “I believe things often come in three-year cycles (and) we had arrived at the end of such a cycle.

“We wanted to hear it, we tried, but somehow we had lost a little bit of what made us special.”
Mourinho is under pressure following Chelsea’s worst ever start to a Premier League season . They are 16th in the Premier League, having lost seven of their 12 games - and 10 of 19 in all competitions.
But the striker also hands Mourinho a timely boost with a ringing endorsement of his long-time Blues boss.
“The majority of coaches when they arrive at a new club, they will say, “I’ll try to win but it will be difficult.’ Jose says, ‘I’m here to win.’
