Manchester United utility man Daley Blind has hailed Wayne Rooney as the greatest finisher he’s ever played with.

Rooney hasn’t enjoyed his best campaign in front of goal this term, scoring just twice in 11 Premier League matches.

But while many Red Devils fans have been vocal on social media about Rooney being dropped, Blind has come out in support.

In a feature on United’s website, Blind was asked about the best finishers he’s ever played with or against – and Rooney came out on top.

‘Rooney is a great finisher,’ he said.

‘Especially in the way he scores goals.’

Despite his poor recent form, Rooney is still United’s second all-time top scorer – so he must be doing something right.
