Arsenal transfer news: Nolito bid, Andrija Zivkovic chased, Alessandro Florenzi targeted – reports

A poor defeat away to West Brom and losses when wins matter most emphasised the need for Arsenal to bolster their team if at all they are to be title contenders this season.

The title is by no means lost but with plenty of injuries to key stars, it’s looking less and less likely.

Unless, that is, Arsenal can hit the transfer market wisely and add some strength to their side.

And there are plenty of rumours flying around that they will look to add players in every position on the pitch.

Here’s the latest:

Arsenal ready to trigger Nolito’s release clause

The Gunners may be in some need of some firepower in January.

And the Spaniard appears to be one of their favoured targets.

Arsene Wenger is supposedly keen to trigger his £12.6m release clause to bring him to the Emirates.

Andrija Zivkovic chased

While Arsenal may have been linked with Lionel Messi earlier in the week, this may seem a slightly more realistic target.

The Partizan Belgrade star is known as the ‘Serbian Messi’ and is available in a cut-price deal as his contract expires at the end of the season.

But the Gunners will have to fight off interest from Villarreal, Valencia, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid to land him.

Alessandro Florenzi wanted

The Roma star is a long-term target for Wenger and he’s still keen for a move.

Barcelona and Spurs are also interested in the 24-year-old, who has scored four goals for club and country this season.

Florenzi is primarily used as a defender but his ability to play in midfield could make him a valuable asset for the Gunners.
